Wonder Wall

Quilting by Committee
This exquisitely hand pieced beauty is finished at last!

There was a good few hours worth of ruler work to highlight the blocks. Although the pieces were all the same shape, it was amazing how each block looked so different. Of course I didn't want to spoil the flawless piecing with conflicting quilting designs, so I just outlined the dominant shapes in each block.

Then I lightly filled the white background with a simple meandering leaf design.

How often have you asked for an opinion and got ten?!

This was our first group project of the year at Studio Quilters on Saturday, and is called 'Wonder Wall'. We laid out the pieces then all had a hand in moving them round as we tried to agree on the best layout.

In the end, we changed it completely and it turned out lovely. This was a 'quilt as you go' project and we nearly completed it between us on the day. I just had to finish top stitching the white segments when I got home.
It made such a striking design and didn't even need binding.

One for Project Linus I think.

Happy Quilting Everyone!
